fall out of the ship and is bitten by a mosqutio.
That's how it starts, soon the alien blood as a strange unknown effect on the alien creature's blood mutates the mosquito
and one fair night the skeeters descend on the unsuspecting campers, leaving only a handful alive. A new Ranger arrange for
her first day on the job with her boyfriend to find the massacre.
Now together is a cowardly Ranger, A Scinetist looking for a fallen meteor and three Bank Robbers, they have to find a
way to squash these overside pests before they're next on the chopping block.
ZEDD'S OPINION:
Okay first let's deal with the so-called fact. "Factual errors: An oft-quoted rule of nature states that for an animal's
increase in size, the weight increases by the cube of the increase while surface area only increases by the square. This means
that neither the mosquitoes' legs nor their wings would be able to support them or let them fly. They would be helpless, trapped
on the ground." That is not always true. Since these creatures are mutations open-minded scientist theorize that along
with their size, the animal or insect's molecular density would also increase. Ergo, they would be stronger then a normal
size bug that just "got bigger". Anyway, about the story, it's good old fashion fun, the characters are well written,
the effects are totally assume. The story works, even though they never did find out why the craft crashed? Oh well, I liked
the story; the cast did a great job and all and all, a great movie. I give it 8 STARS!
VOLTRON'S OPINION:
I agree, espically the part about "rule of nature" that rule doesn't apply to muatations, weither that mutation
was born of radioactivity or alien blood. Example: After three mile island meltdown, they found weeds in the area that stands
no more then six inches tall, six feet tall. They were man-eating killers, but it broke the "rule of nature".
The dialog got alittle cheesy at times, but other then that. It's good, not perfect, but good. I give it..7 STARS!
ON THE POSITIVE SIDE (+ HITS):
+ CREATURE EFFECTS (Now these are damn cook mosquito effects.)
+ STORY (Interesting concept to make mutants with.)
+ CAST (The cast does a great job in this movie.)
+ CHARACTERS (The characters were likable.)
ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE (- MISSES):
- CHEESY DIALOG AT TIMES (VOLTRON felt that some of the dialog got cheesy at points.)
...AND FINALLY...
- FAN BASED (If you aren't big on big bug movies, then this isn't for you.)
