Alex Rogan was just a normal teen living in a normal trailer park with his normal brother and normal friends. Until the day
he beat the hottest game, the game nobody could win. STARFIGHTER, then things for Alex got less normal when he discovers
that it was a test to find pilots for a real Starfighter to stop an alien force out to conquer the galaxy.
Thinking this is way over his head Alex turns down the honor of the job of Starfighter and was taken back to Earth, while
he was gone, Xur and his allies attacked and wiped out all the pilots. But one, Alex. Alex can't go home for he is wanted
by the Korans and hunted by Bounty Hunters and as the only Starfighter left has to find a way to save the Universe all alone.
This movie is a milestone in movies. It was the first movie to use mostly CG animation for the effects, it wasn't that long
after Tron who was the first. The story works, the characters and the cast work. But I think the graphics look kind of video
game-ish to me. But being a first attempt I give credit for trying. 9 STARS.
The story works, the characters work and I agree with the CG issues and also agree that it is a early attempt and we've come
so far since then that it seems so crude. But I do have a special place for this movie in my heart and also give it 9 STARS.
ON THE POSITIVE SIDE (+ HITS):
+ STORY (The story works.)
+ CREATURE EFFECTS (Were amazing.)
+ CAST (The cast does a great job.)
+ CHARACTERS (Very likable)
+ EFFECTS (For the time, very good.)
ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE (- MISSES):
- CG (Good for the time but still kind of video Gamish for us.)
